Jesus, and God’s Divine Plans for Humanity

Recommended for all Christians, pastors, Bible instructors, lay teachers and counselors, Bible study groups or individuals seeking to better understand the Bible and God’s divine blueprint for planet Earth and all of humanity. A CBM Christian Book Review ~10.0 out of 10.0 stars.

Condensed and concise (only 222 pages), this book would also be a good book for professors to add to their list of required reading in Bible schools and degree programs.

From Alpha to Omega: An Overview of the Bible by Stanley D. Rasberry offers to readers a “short handbook of the Bible” to assist readers in understanding the Bible, from beginning to end. Rightly named, From Alpha to Omega, (in Greek meaning “the beginning” and “the end”) the author begins with the book of Genesis through the book of Revelation, 66 books covered in all.

Grouped into 15 separate sections and a List of Tables, the author has made the Bible easy to understand. His purpose is to help readers know time periods, meanings and messages, the authors of the relevant sections and how this intertwines with us today in this modern-day age. Readers will come to understand the Bible as a book of prophecy that has told the beginning and the end of the human race, giving instructions on how to live, the origin of sin, man and the many centuries that have passed since the beginning of time. The author states, “With it in hand, the reader can see the Bible with fresh eyes.”(p.v).

This is a must-read and complimentary to anyone wanting to understand the meaning of life, their purpose with focus on The Old and New Covenants, the Gospels, Jesus, and God’s divine plans for humanity and the future End Time scenario.

With such sections as: Alpha: Jesus and the Eons, Two Men: Job and Mel, Chosen People, Escape from Egypt, Covenants, Laws and Sacrifices, Promised Land, Three Kings, Wisdom and Songs, Six Empires, Two Captivities, One Restoration, The Gospels, The New Church, Instructions to the Growing Church, Omega: The Revelation of Jesus, with discussions on the Early Church years and study group sessions, the author has given a complete overview. Additional Tables give valuable information such as: The Twelve Tribes of Israel, The Ten Commandments, the Feasts and Festivals, The Judges, Psalms Themes, Abbreviated Timelines, The Kings after Solomon, and so much more that add to the scope of the book.

With the inclusion of the original Greek in sections the author begins with Scripture and introduces succinctly and concisely each historical event in the corresponding book of the Bible. Suggested reading is to read each section. Then, if desired, read the referenced Bible material covered in the Bible (i.e., Genesis, and so on). Designed for the mature and new Christian alike, this handbook is an excellent resource that makes understanding the Bible, easy, convenient and fascinating. - Get your copy of  From Alpha to Omega: An Overview of the Bible at Amazon.

Counting Down To Christmas

Produced in part to contribute to the Christian outreach group, based in Orlando, Florida, Jesus Loves You Love Him Back, Patrick Higgins writes a fictional novel that will inspire, intrigue and bring saving faith in Jesus, reminding us all to, Love Thy Neighbor as Yourself in The Unannounced Christmas Visitor.

Counting down to Christmas, an unannounced visitor, dubbed as a vagrant, with shabby, unkept clothes and appearance. This visitor (possibly an angel) was ushered away from the front seats of Lydia Jensen’s church to the back row. All eyes were on the man as he was ushered to the back. Lydia too looked and wondered with compassion upon the man.

Finding out that he was put in the back because of the way he looked, gives way to Lydia speaking in first person of her ensuing encounters and changing heart. She wondered how her supposed brothers and sisters could act so unChristlike, and wondered how the godly couple, the Rainer’s, could possibly be so judgmental, after catching the elderly wife scowl at the poorly clothed man for taking their seats.

This book gives way to the issue of what it means to be Christlike, and displays Scripture in relevant ways as this visitor changes Lydia and her family’s lives for the good. God’s commands to His children is to not be partial, and to help the poor. The Unannounced Christmas Visitor sheds light on the modern-day Church and attitudes of the heart against the poor, the homeless and those who are less fortunate. The Bible reminds us that is not up to us to be the judge, that there is only one Judge. Still, this book displays another facet of some that those would call themselves Christians. Those who choose to look the other way, as many do, to a hurting world.

Displaying common attitudes and misguided faith about God in John (Lydia’s husband) the author has chosen to represent what may be more common happenings in marriages and families than one would like to think. Her husband John has become disconnected at age 42, and after his years at college and being indoctrinated with humanism (life without God), his faith has waned. So much so, he resents church and Lydia for wanting him to go. Their marriage, on the verge of divorce, with nothing but arguing day and night, represent how hard it is for couples just to be happy and the opposition that many families face. Lydia’s fight for her marriage and family is not an uncommon theme in our present day world.

Leading readers to a challenge to not only love the saved, but to love the lost – no matter what they look like, this book is inspiring, as it offers the hope in Jesus. One powerful comment that is made in the book by the homeless man sums up the book’s theme: “That’s because you’re doing a good thing. Most people do nice things hoping for the applause of others. But the select few do it more for the smile of God than anything else. I can assure you that your generosity has put a smile on our Maker’s face. How could you not feel good under such conditions?” This comment was made to Lydia, as she sat down to chat with the homeless man, whom she had fed (along with about 50 other homeless people).

A wonderful, heart-felt novel that will inspire one to look to God, follow His commands and to remember, God is Love – challenging all to look at themselves and ask, “What does love in action look like?” A fantastic read, reminding all of the true Gospel of faith in action.

A Riveting Fictional Account Of World End Time Events

Authors In The Press Presents - The Forum: A Deadly Game of Wheat and Tares by Ronald Winters offers a riveting fictional account of “real world end time events, current day attitudes and directions of the spirit of the times in which we live.”

Barak Zonman, starts off this fast-paced thriller, blending elements of espionage with a religious and political polarization that affect the masses of population around the World. In the book, there is a conspiracy to bring all faiths into one large interfaith religion and Barak Zonman and his popular TV show – The Forum must be eliminated.

This begins with Zonman, the show’s founder. The Forum “is a faith oriented call-in TV show designed to let viewers question leading members of the clergy.” Controversial in nature, this show sparks debate – and hinders the worldwide current of leading all into one faith and world peace. This novel of the wheat and tares is an amazing book written to those that would seek truth in God and the true Christian faith.

Running for his life, Barak finds sanctuary in a church and finds himself radically changed by a baptism by water, followed by a baptism of the Spirit, as evidenced by the speaking in tongues. Highlighting this issue, the author speaks of the controversy between believers on being “born again” (either by just statement and belief and/or by receiving the infilling of the Spirit, as evidenced by speaking in tongues).

This radical way of being born again and receiving the Spirit is what Apostle Paul spoke of, thus, the book sheds light on God’s way versus man’s way. Man’s way and God’s way are running a collision course to the End Times in this book that reveal an exciting plot of scenarios begun by two Prologues that concurrently blend modern-day questions and events that has been spoken of in Bible Prophecy. The author also notes that we are in the time of the Olivet Discourse that Jesus speaks of on the Mount of Olives, mentioning the time of Jesus return as near since the birth of Israel in May 1948.

In the back of the book the author offers his personal testimony, delivered instantly from prescription drug dependency when “he looked in the mirror” and repented of his ways. Holding fast to true repentance, the author advocates true Holy Ghost filled deliverances and that the modern-day believer should have them as a norm, instead of replaced by the Forum so to speak – the modern day church who compromises and duplicates the actual workings of the Holy Spirit by replacing them with good theology, programs and modern day mood alteration technology. He also offers observations on some relevant issues, two being backsliding and tithing.

This book comes highly recommended for those that look to fill the void inside, but are not sure what they are looking for. And for those that enjoy thrillers with the elements of religious and political overtones.

Recommended either for a personal read or as a tool to reach the unbeliever, the book highlights the End Times and gives a faith-filled read that speaks of the true evidence found in an all-powerful God. Based on Barak’s faith-filled experience, the book offers challenging questions to believers and to non-believers (the wheat and the tares) as to the times that we are living in and gives a warning to the group of believers that call themselves, the Church.

Did Humans Come From Apes

The Re-Creation of Planet Earth and Real Account of Life’s Beginnings
Brian Donnelly
ISBN #978-1532017339
A CBM Book Review
10.0 out of 10.0 stars

The Re-Creation of Planet Earth and Real Account of Life’s Beginnings by Brian Donnelly shares insight into the Earth’s age, Creation, science, evolution, the Big Bang theory and the beginning of life.  Also sharing God, Jesus and insight into Heaven, makes this a book that pits itself against any other theory other than Biblical creation, giving research, history and research.

The author’s main goal is to give readers the facts of evolution in a language that is easily understood by most, and to let them decide for themselves using logic, science and the Scriptures. He has written a book that causes people to think about “what” they are believing in when speaking of the thought that humans came from apes, and mentions other theories as well. His writing shows that evolution and other theories by scientists, disproves itself.

Beginning with Earth’s age, the author asks a poignant question. One that I think most Christians have asked: “Have you wondered why there is such a huge discrepancy regarding the age of our planet?” As scientists have claimed, the Earth’s age is 4.6 billion years, yet the Bible refers to planet Earth as only being six thousand years old. Revealing a study through the book of Genesis, the author sets the stage for the understanding that Creation is a viable theory.

Summarizing such events as Adam and Eve giving birth to the first generation Cain and Abel, to Noah and the Flood, the book skips along at a fast-paced, keeping readers attention. Continuing to trace the origins of the “Out of Africa” movement created by Darwin, the author propagates his attention to the details of their arguments. Analyzing, how this actually could happen without becoming overly scientific, so all of us can understand.

This is a great and relatively short read that directs people to look up, at God, at Jesus, describes what Heaven is like and gives them an understanding that makes sense. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wonders: Where and how did we get here? Within this, the author is courageous enough to state his mind and that he believes humans did not come from apes!  Adding some humor throughout, readers will appreciate the author’s integrity on a man’s attention and dedication and family, gives insight into the unfair spread of wealth and speaks to those who have a heart to do something.

Fear and Anxiety

Psalm 91:2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” Many Christians, in a time of need or crisis, tend to become afraid, or panic. God expects you to depend upon the promises He has given you in the Bible. Start quoting them, and the spirit of fear will be driven out by God’s power.

The spirit of fear will make you want to say that you are afraid, whereas the Psalmist says: “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.’ ” You do not have to be afraid when you can have confidence in whom you depend.

You are depending on the Lord, Who is completely capable of helping you in any time of need. You can trust in Him, because He will never let you down.  Psalm 91:3 tells you that He will deliver you from the trap of the hunter, as well as perilous pestilences. Expect the Lord to give you the divine protection He promised.

Discovering Hope & Healing Through Forgiveness

New Release - The Victim’s Cry: Discovering Hope & Healing Through Forgiveness by Steven D. Griffin is an encouraging book that exposes truth from a Christian perspective to help readers find lasting healing and freedom from past offenses, pain and unforgiveness. A CBM Book Review 10.0 out of 10.0

As the author presents steps to dealing with past offenses, disappointment and deep bitterness, the author writes from his own journey after separation in his own marriage. Offering Biblical knowledge, and additionally sharing some of the reasons why we suffer in this world, the author writes a concise, yet simple book to discover hope and healing through the power of Christ.

Full of Scripture and Biblical insights on the issues of forgiveness, heart attitudes and judgments are examined that presents to readers refreshment to the soul, giving them practical solutions to seek after God and His plan for healing.

Readers will also learn from the Introduction that the book is a God-birthed book written from someone who has experienced God’s plan of restoration. As the author highlights this statement from the Lord, “I want you to write a book about My plan of rescue for people who have been hurt. Many of my people are bound up, and I will use this book to help set them free.”

The author offers hope to those who feel like victims. What is quite unique is that he begins with the definition of a victim. As it turns out, we all have been victims at one time or another. With heartfelt compassion, the author’s hope and prayer in reading this book is that individuals will find lasting freedom in Christ and come to an understanding that they are more than conquerors in Christ.

Divided into 5 Open and Shut Steps to Freedom, such issues as selfishness, bitterness, anger, hatred, judgments address heart attitudes that help readers identify these feelings and emotions, turning to God for help. Once identified through a godly lens, the truth of God’s Word is applied and a renewing of the mind begins, refreshing and cleansing the troubled heart and emotions. This is a wonderful book that gives the keys to finding restoration in one’s soul that brings a transformed life, and in turn transformed relationships through forgiveness. Readers will find that broken relationships can be repaired.

I cannot recommend this book enough, in that it gives the Biblical steps to finding restoration in relationships and helps readers take a look at their own heart, inspiring them to look up to God. Reading this book also produce godly character by presenting to readers a practical application of God’s Word. Freedom will be found if the steps are applied and the person submits to God. Increased intimacy with Christ will also be developed and lasting peace, love and joy will be found as people are set free.

This book comes highly recommended for anyone that needs encouragement, understanding and hope to issues that have caused strife, division and separation within their life.  For those struggling with anger, resentment, depression and unforgiveness, this book will help those individuals release these feelings and find relief. I have to say to the author, “Thank You,” for hearing from God and having the courage to follow through. His testimony of how he clearly heard from God and obeyed is inspiring!
